- OVERspace is a pre-college teacher professional development program for implementing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and the Global Positioining System (GPS) into the classroom.
Southside GIS Expo (The Virginia Southside GIS User Group )
- The GIS Expo will focus on GIS applications in Public Safety, Economic Development, Utilities, Planning, and Education. The GIS Expo will offer panel and workshop sessions geared towards the Southside region. Workshop sessions will include training in GPS, ArcGIS, and general GIS applications. Virginia Remote Sensing / GIS Integration Workshop (The Virginia Geospatial Extension Program)
- This is an introductory level workshop for local and state government personnel. Participants do not require any prior knowledge of remote sensing or GIS. Participants will be exposed to different types of remote sensing image products that can be used to support local and regional issues.
