Mission & Vision

The mission of the Virginia Tech Aquaculture Center (VTAC) is to provide benefit to the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia through enhancing opportunities for the expansion and diversification of the state's aquaculture industry with a unique focus upon recirculating life support systems. By concentrating upon education and training, research and development, the VTAC aims to assist Virginia 's aquaculture industry to be economically viable, environmentally sustainable and globally competitive. This will provide Virginians and others with a diverse range of high quality, competitively priced and safe aquatic products.
