A Tree From the Air?

One final observation about the photosynthesis equation is that oxygen is produced as a byproduct.  This is a great byproduct since animals (including you) need oxygen to survive.  The oxygen is produced when a water molecule is split during a specific chemical reaction.

Although the summary equation for photosynthesis is rather simple the specific reactions are very complex.
