This co-champion Boxelder was originally nominated in 1996 by John Kell. A 2002 nomination of a Bedford County boxelder (below) vied for championship, but after remeasuring this Montgomery County tree, the new nomination fell short by a mere five points.       Circumference: 183 inches       Height: 59 feet       Average crown spread: 96 feet       Total Points: 266 This tree is located on Dunton Drive in the town of Blacksburg, VA. The five-point spread is enough to earn this Bedford County boxelder a co-championship in Virginia. This tree was nominated by Annis and Bill McCabe and measured by Guy Brubaker.       Circumference: 176 inches       Height: 64 feet       Average crown spread: 84 feet       Total Points: 261 This tree is located in Curtis, VA.
